The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rolando Romano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristoforo Iacomini in the 7th minute of play. In the 9th minute Cristoforo Iacomini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Romano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Cristoforo Iacomini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merceron United's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristoforo Iacomini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolando Romano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rolando Romano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ennio Guidoni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute of the match Cristiano Pellicciotta shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rolando Romano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Rolando Romano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alex De Toni went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The Merceron United fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Merceron United's Alex De Toni looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rolando Romano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex De Toni in the 24th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Fortinero hasta la muerte's goal looked a bit too open when Alex De Toni came free, but Rolando Romano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Romano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alex De Toni's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute, Alex De Toni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 39 played minutes Fortinero hasta la muerte got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Enmanuel. Ennio Guidoni took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rolando Romano. Fortinero hasta la muerte's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 41 played minutes Merceron United got a freekick which was hit by Ennio Guidoni. When Fortinero hasta la muerte's Marcelino Abreu in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Merceron United's goalie prevented a goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alex De Toni to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Merceron United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damiano Perazzolo to maneuver through the defense. Carmine Latini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelino Abreu in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Marcelino Abreu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 63 minutes into the game, Federico Del Giudice threw the ball into play from the sideline. Fortinero hasta la muerte's Eustacio Gamus quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 66 minutes into the match, Marcelino Abreu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carmine Latini. Merceron United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelino Abreu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Fortinero hasta la muerte's Rolando Romano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex De Toni in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to Fortinero hasta la muerte getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Blas Evarado hit a great ball. Rolando Romano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex De Toni in the 77th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Merceron United's goal looked a bit too open when Victorio Peter came free, but Carmine Latini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Fortinero hasta la muerte's goalkeeper Rolando Romano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alex De Toni. Rolando Romano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex De Toni in the 82nd minute of the match. Anthony Ruzzi charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anthony Ruzzi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Merceron United's Anthony Ruzzi got his second yellow card of the match in the 92nd minute. The referee ordered Anthony Ruzzi off the ground. The supporters of Fortinero hasta la muerte booed when Merceron United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthony Ruzzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Merceron United players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
