If Rickard Thidén had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 9 minutes into the match, Birmingham Railers FC's goalkeeper Rafael Monteiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rickard Thidén. Sílvio Luís Coelho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Johannes Sobeck having to make a save. 13 minutes into the match, LOI's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Luís Coelho came free, but Johannes Sobeck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafael Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rickard Thidén, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 17thth minute of the game Rickard Thidén who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Birmingham Railers FC's Rafael Monteiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 19 played minutes Birmingham Railers FC got a freekick which was hit by Angelo da Rocha. Rafael Monteiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tarık Sehhar in the 22nd minute. In the 27th minute, Rickard Thidén left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The LOI fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Birmingham Railers FC's goalkeeper Rafael Monteiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 35 minutes into the match, LOI's Rickard Thidén sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafael Monteiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 36 minutes into the game, Rickard Thidén lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Rafael Monteiro. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Tarık Sehhar managed to get in a good position for a shot. LOI's supporters rose to their feet, but Tarık Sehhar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Birmingham Railers FC's Rafael Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rickard Thidén in the 43rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Tarık Sehhar took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Rafael Monteiro to make any attempt to save it. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Cléberson Alcântara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Johannes Sobeck made a huge save. Angelo da Rocha hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. When Angelo da Rocha fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Birmingham Railers FC's protests and gave Angelo da Rocha a yellow card for diving instead. João Francisco Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Johannes Sobeck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Rickard Thidén notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Birmingham Railers FC's Rafael Monteiro. Rafael Monteiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hikmet Şafakgün during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 72 played minutes Birmingham Railers FC got a freekick which was hit by Angelo da Rocha. In the 74th minute, Tarık Sehhar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The LOI fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Rickard Thidén sped through Birmingham Railers FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rafael Monteiro. Diego Forlan kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Alan Franco made in the 83rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Pablo Maia however managed to control. After 85 minutes of play, LOI's Rickard Thidén made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rafael Monteiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rafael Monteiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rickard Thidén went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. Rafael Monteiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tarık Sehhar's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. LOI's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
