But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Berto couldn't finish the play. Ruy Oliveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaldo Berto in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 41st minute Arnaldo Berto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruy Oliveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st match minute, Papunhas EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitinho Cabral to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the SMARTS FC defense, Luiz Messias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hernan Enekoitz. The SMARTS FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hernan Enekoitz should have stopped the shot. In the 65thth minute of the game Leopoldo Remicio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Papunhas EC's Ruy Oliveira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 67th minute of the match SMARTS FC got a corner. Papunhas EC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adrian Tabb ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ruy Oliveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaldo Berto in the 76th minute of the match. Frédson Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Hernan Enekoitz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Messias got in the 81st a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Hernan Enekoitz handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Berto in the 83rd minute of play forced Papunhas EC's goalkeeper Ruy Oliveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the game, SMARTS FC's Arnaldo Berto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SMARTS FC fully deserved thier win.
