The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hernan Hernandez's late challenge caught a F.C. Baia Mare -MM-'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hernan Hernandez helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th match minute, Sportkarelclub FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kauã Garcia to maneuver through the defense. Paul Vizitiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paul Vizitiu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Yuriy Gashkin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Sportkarelclub FC's Hernan Hernandez got a free kick in the 11th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauã Garcia in the 13th minute of play forced F.C. Baia Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Edgar Geangu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yuriy Gashkin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Vieru, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Florencio Mouricio in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgar Geangu saved F.C. Baia Mare -MM- from getting behind. 21 minutes into the match, Sportkarelclub FC's Hernan Hernandez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgar Geangu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Florencio Mouricio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victor Acalinei charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victor Acalinei the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sportkarelclub FC booed when F.C. Baia Mare -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Acalinei didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the game, Andrei Ţăranu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C. Baia Mare -MM-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sportkarelclub FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, F.C. Baia Mare -MM-'s Andrei Ţăranu got a free kick in the 36th minute. Edgar Geangu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kauã Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Vieru in the 42nd minute of play forced Sportkarelclub FC's goalkeeper Yuriy Gashkin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, Marian Cămărășan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Sportkarelclub FC's Florencio Mouricio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgar Geangu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Vieru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to F.C. Baia Mare -MM- getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Emilian Răducu hit a great ball. In the 60th minute, Kauã Garcia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Kauã Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yuriy Gashkin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul Vizitiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Florencio Mouricio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Edgar Geangu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emilian Răducu hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. David Vieru took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yuriy Gashkin. Yuriy Gashkin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 87 minutes into the match, Sportkarelclub FC's goal looked a bit too open when David Vieru came free, but Yuriy Gashkin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Florencio Mouricio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The F.C. Baia Mare -MM- supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sportkarelclub FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Sportkarelclub FC.
