The audience was convinced that Lino Madeo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reynaldo Donio was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Francisco Pelagius came out of the goal and Andy Johnson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the match, Reconquistense FC's Alvaro Santana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reynaldo Donio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Inter Miami CF's goalkeeper Reynaldo Donio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lino Madeo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Reynaldo Donio made a huge save. Reconquistense FC's Francisco Pelagius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Johnson in the 45th minute of play. Lino Madeo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Reynaldo Donio when he managed to save the team from getting behind.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lino Madeo was the one to do the kick off. Francisco Pelagius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Maradona in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Reconquistense FC's Prudencio Raulo got a free kick in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anacleto Norino in the 60th minute of play forced Inter Miami CF's goalkeeper Reynaldo Donio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Reconquistense FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Jonathan Calvet hit a great ball. Reynaldo Donio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lino Madeo's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lino Madeo in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reynaldo Donio saved Inter Miami CF from getting behind. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Inter Miami CF walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
