Nusaybin GençLikSpor's Serdar Ulualp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Helberg in the 10th minute of play. After 10 played minutes Hartlepool got a freekick which was hit by Erland Björkkvist. With a little luck, Hartlepool's Martin Munter got control of the ball when Gökalp Rakim tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hartlepool's Greger Åberg got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 15 played minutes Nusaybin GençLikSpor got a freekick which was hit by Artaç Ezrak. 18 minutes into the match, Nusaybin GençLikSpor's goal looked a bit too open when Thomas Helberg came free, but Serdar Ulualp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Nusaybin GençLikSpor's Bülent Turgay dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Martin Munter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gökalp Rakim in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 33rd minute Nusaybin GençLikSpor were awarded a corner. Bülent Turgay went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Nusaybin GençLikSpor's Bülent Turgay to fire away a dangerous shot which Martin Munter despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Greger Åberg to make the kick off. Gökalp Rakim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nusret Heybetli in the 59th minute of play forced Hartlepool's goalkeeper Martin Munter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Munter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gökalp Rakim in the 61st minute of play. Nusret Heybetli kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After having played for 72 minutes, Nusret Heybetli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nusaybin GençLikSpor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nusret Heybetli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Martin Munter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gökalp Rakim in the 76th minute of play. After having played for 79 minutes, Greger Åberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hartlepool's supporters crossed their fingers, but Greger Åberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st match minute, Hartlepool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stig-Ove Alberg to maneuver through the defense. 83 minutes into the match, Hartlepool's goal looked a bit too open when Gökalp Rakim came free, but Martin Munter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nusret Heybetli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Martin Munter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rıfkı Sefir during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Hartlepool booed when Nusaybin GençLikSpor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rıfkı Sefir didn't get a good kick on the ball.
