In the 18th minute, Sävedalen's Markus Åkesson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Markus Åkesson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sävedalen protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Markus Åkesson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sävedalen fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! Sävedalen:s Arne Åkesson showed great skill when he stopped Ezequiel Amorim:s penalty. A collision led to S.C. Internacional RS getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Umberto Dantas hit a great ball. When Lennart Alstedt came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Sävedalen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lennart Alstedt couldn't finish the play. In the 28th match minute, S.C. Internacional RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ezequiel Amorim to maneuver through the defense. Sävedalen's Roy Danielsson got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, S.C. Internacional RS's goal looked a bit too open when Roy Danielsson came free, but Sidnei Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. S.C. Internacional RS's Ezequiel Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. S.C. Internacional RS's Sidnei Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Tingberg in the 41st minute of play. Lennart Alstedt struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Sidnei Peixoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sävedalen. Sävedalen's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tor Jönsson in the 47th minute. Sävedalen's Tor Jönsson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sidnei Peixoto in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The S.C. Internacional RS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sävedalen were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roy Danielsson made a kick off. With a little luck, S.C. Internacional RS's Sidnei Peixoto got control of the ball when Jonathan Tingberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agnaldo de Castro in the 57th minute of play forced Sävedalen's goalkeeper Arne Åkesson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Sävedalen's Sidnei Peixoto threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roy Danielsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Jonathan Tingberg put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Sidnei Peixoto. In the 76th minute, Simon Ahlén hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
