Tim Wiese made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidnei Faria in the 5th minute. In the 12th minute, André Neubauer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20 minutes Portuguesa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mark Elzer who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Portuguesa's goalie and right to Halldor Sönksen. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Portuguesa's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Portuguesa's Ruy Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Elzer in the 22nd minute of play. After 22 minutes of play, SV Bad Harzburg's Mark Elzer made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ruy Goiano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mark Elzer took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruy Goiano. Ruy Goiano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After 30 played minutes SV Bad Harzburg got a freekick which was hit by Welf Heinlein. 36 minutes into the game, SV Bad Harzburg's Lars Schira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ruy Goiano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Mark Elzer took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruy Goiano. Ruy Goiano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After 43 minutes of play, SV Bad Harzburg's John Rambo made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ruy Goiano was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 46 minutes, Yuri de Queiroz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portuguesa and the SV Bad Harzburg players grew even worse after the yellow card. Yuri de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mark Elzer was the one to do the kick off. Mark Elzers short, quick shot in the 51stth minute got Ruy Goiano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Zé Paulo Mendes kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Mark Elzer took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruy Goiano. Ruy Goiano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mark Elzer in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ruy Goiano saved Portuguesa from getting behind. Rodolfo Peters kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Portuguesa's Jano Berger couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SV Bad Harzburg. Tim Wiese stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rômulo Fernandes's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. When Eckhard Donndorf fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SV Bad Harzburg's protests and gave Eckhard Donndorf a yellow card for diving instead. After 76 played minutes, Portuguesa's Jano Berger shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tim Wiese came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Portuguesa reached it. Tim Wiese stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rômulo Fernandes's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. In the 81st minute, Mark Elzer made a precise shot to the right of Ruy Goiano. Portuguesa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. Tim Wiese showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betinho Severo in the 94th minute of the match. After 95 played minutes SV Bad Harzburg got a freekick which was hit by Eckhard Donndorf. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SV Bad Harzburg had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
