With an all-out effort, Granate's Mustafa İzzet Muhammed threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joaquin Ezkerra, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Oğuzhan Yavuzay hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Mustafa İzzet Muhammed took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucio Serapio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernabe Galtero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Mustafa İzzet Muhammed made a huge save. Anıl Baran İstanbul hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute of the match, Joaquin Ezkerra tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mustafa İzzet Muhammed saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Binali Ünaldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Binali Ünaldi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustavo Resto having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Honorato Txatxu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mustafa İzzet Muhammed. That made the score 3-1 in the 31 minute of play. Mustafa İzzet Muhammed took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucio Serapio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Bernabe Galtero fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Granate's protests and gave Bernabe Galtero a yellow card for diving instead. Gustavo Resto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Binali Ünaldi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Granate getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Saverio Luken hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Binali Ünaldi made a kick off. Mustafa İzzet Muhammed showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernan Chepe in the 58th minute of the match. Gustavo Resto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Binali Ünaldi, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Bernabe Galtero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Mustafa İzzet Muhammed tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mustafa İzzet Muhammed took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorato Txatxu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustavo Resto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Binali Ünaldi in the 74th minute of the match. When Binali Ünaldi came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the FC St. Pauli fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Binali Ünaldi couldn't finish the play. In the 79th minute, Mazhar Erdem hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to FC St. Pauli getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Mazhar Erdem hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the game, Humberto Fidensio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Granate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC St. Pauli the free kick. After 88 played minutes Granate got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Fidensio. FC St. Pauli's Binali Ünaldi got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Binali Ünaldi in the 94th minute of play forced Granate's goalkeeper Gustavo Resto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustavo Resto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Binali Ünaldi in the 97th minute of play.
