The audience was convinced that Hílton Abraão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wágner Ribeiro was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. In the 23rd minute, Misericordia EC's Zico Matamoros dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Ronaldão Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bob Gøl in the 26th minute of the match. After 29 played minutes Misericordia EC got a freekick which was hit by Ian Brasil. After having played for 30 minutes, Marquinhos Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marquinhos Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Augusto Sá in the 51st minute of play forced FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's goalkeeper Ronaldão Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
