But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baltazar Filho couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Corti getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Diguinho de Azevedo hit a great ball. Mazarópi Filho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diguinho de Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Luís Eger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Suárez in the 26th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Eugênio de Sena was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio RK75 the free kick. Eugênio de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Baltazar Filho made a precise shot to the right of André Luís Eger. Corti's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Luiz Eduardo Bastos took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mazarópi Filho. Mazarópi Filho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diguinho de Azevedo to make the kick off. Luís Suárez took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised André Luís Eger. André Luís Eger dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. André Luís Eger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltazar Filho in the 57th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Corti fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 60th minute. Penalty! Jorginho de Azevedo's late challenge caught a Grêmio RK75's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
