Beat Varlett didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Donato Arotza went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Victoriano Mirande's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Beat Varlett was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Victoriano Mirande received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Beat Varlett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th match minute, Zulia F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernal Grandas to maneuver through the defense. Donato Arotza scored 0-4 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Beat Varlett, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Victoriano Mirande put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Beat Varlett. In the 36th minute Donato Arotza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beat Varlett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Zulia F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Victoriano Mirande came free, but Beat Varlett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Zulia F.C getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Bernal Grandas hit a great ball. If Victoriano Mirande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victoriano Mirande stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zulia F.C's Beat Varlett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victoriano Mirande in the 53rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Zulia F.C's zone, Victoriano Mirande stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beat Varlett came out of the goal and Victoriano Mirande tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Beat Varlett made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Donato Arotza sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Quilmes's Donato Arotza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Beat Varlett. That made the score 0-9 after 63 minutes of play. The audience was convinced that Victoriano Mirande's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Beat Varlett was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Beat Varlett made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victoriano Mirande in the 72nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Victoriano Mirande managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quilmes's supporters rose to their feet, but Victoriano Mirande was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Beat Varlett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Victoriano Mirande kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Beat Varlett. That made the score 0-11 in the 82 minute of play. 0-12 became the score in the 84th minute when Victoriano Mirande elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Victoriano Mirande did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-13 to the left of a surprised Beat Varlett 88 minutes into the match. Donato Arotza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Beat Varlett when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some careless play in the Zulia F.C defense, Victoriano Mirande kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Beat Varlett. The Zulia F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Beat Varlett should have stopped the shot. Victoriano Mirandes short, quick shot in the 95thth minute got Beat Varlett to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Quilmes played a much better game than Zulia F.C and deserved their victory. The Zulia F.C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
