The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ciro Ferrante showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Alberigo Mauro notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Alexandrie CF's Vasco Sousa. Vasco Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 23rd minute Angelo Cilli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasco Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexandrie CF's John-Paul Atlan was substituted for Claude Francois. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and John-Paul Atlan made a kick off. Vasco Sousa made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Angelo Cilli sent off a good shot on target. 59 minutes into the match, Eugenio Monti notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Alexandrie CF's Vasco Sousa. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angelo Cilli got free with Vasco Sousa in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. John-Paul Atlan might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ciro Ferrante. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. John-Paul Atlan ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 98th minute Demetrio Colangelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasco Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Squadra de Pippe walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
