The Aleksotas FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Virginijus Taujanskas should have stopped the shot. Benjaminas Česnauskas kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexis Kotsanakis got free with Virginijus Taujanskas in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 16th minute, Panos Ntountas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Virginijus Taujanskas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Panos Ntountas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anastasios Perakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nedas Stulpinas, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Benjaminas Česnauskas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute Gerasimos Pappagiorgas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virginijus Taujanskas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Aleksotas FK's Nedas Stulpinas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anastasios Perakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alexis Kotsanakis in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Virginijus Taujanskas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Xosé Lim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Virginijus Taujanskas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Virginijus Taujanskas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgos Soufleris, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Virginijus Taujanskas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Alexis Kotsanakis succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 4-0 in the 47th playminute. Olympiacos FC's Thodoris Antoniadis was substituted for Gerasimos Pappagiorgas. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Virginijus Taujanskas came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Olympiacos FC's Panos Ntountas. But to his dismay, Panos Ntountas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Virginijus Taujanskas didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Olympiacos FC's Panos Ntountas shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 6-0 in the ordered_time% minute. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Alexis Kotsanakis sped through Aleksotas FK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Virginijus Taujanskas. Virginijus Taujanskas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panos Ntountas, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virginijus Taujanskas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 90 minutes of play, Olympiacos FC's Alexis Kotsanakis made it 9-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Virginijus Taujanskas was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 94 played minutes Aleksotas FK got a freekick which was hit by Daumantas Sabaitis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panos Ntountas in the 97th minute of play forced Aleksotas FK's goalkeeper Virginijus Taujanskas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Alexis Kotsanakis came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Olympiacos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexis Kotsanakis couldn't finish the play. Olympiacos FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
