Isidor Zubizarreta who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Melchor Baleren when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Melchor Baleren was a little too slow when Delmiro Carrasco got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidor Zubizarreta in the 43rd minute of play forced Sabalero's goalkeeper Melchor Baleren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Sabalero's goalkeeper Melchor Baleren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonio Cruz. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

Sabalero's Tadeo Cordaryal couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 95th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Los kyes.
