The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Capibaribe Stars booed when FC Stoners was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kazimierz Deyna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denílson Munhoz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kazimierz Deyna in the 28th minute of the match. Denílson Munhoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zbigniew Czysty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32ndth minute of the game André Silva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Stoners's Radomil Wykowski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Capibaribe Stars's André Silva, in the 32nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Capibaribe Stars. 37 minutes into the match, André Silva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Radomil Wykowski. FC Stoners's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that André Silva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 39th minute Kazimierz Deyna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denílson Munhoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Capibaribe Stars's zone, Grzegorz Kalak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denílson Munhoz came out of the goal and Grzegorz Kalak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Capibaribe Stars's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fabinho Vasconcelos in the 45th minute. A nice corner shot did that Fabinho Vasconcelos got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Radomil Wykowski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when André Silva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Denílson Munhoz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zbigniew Czysty, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Silva in the 60th minute of play forced FC Stoners's goalkeeper Radomil Wykowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Zbigniew Czysty came free, but Denílson Munhoz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 79 minutes into the game, André Silva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Radomil Wykowski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Radomil Wykowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Silva in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Kazimierz Deyna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Denílson Munhoz was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. André Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Radomil Wykowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tadeu da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the game, Jurand Lamczyk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Stoners's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capibaribe Stars the free kick. The supporters of Capibaribe Stars booed when FC Stoners was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jurand Lamczyk didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Stoners's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Capibaribe Stars had won, even though FC Stoners had held more of the ball.
