When Ruquense FC's Godfredo Enol in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Toronto Marlies FC's goalie prevented a goal. 12 minutes into the game, Cyrille Frye was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Toronto Marlies FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ruquense FC the free kick. The audience was convinced that Shelton Labrecque's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clemente Olayo was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Godfredo Enol scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marc Hale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute, Anacleto Lehen made a precise shot to the right of Marc Hale. Toronto Marlies FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Toronto Marlies FC's Marc Hale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Locaio in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Anacleto Lehen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Marc Hale was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Godfredo Enol struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Marc Hale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ruquense FC. 40 minutes into the match, Ruquense FC's goalkeeper Clemente Olayo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shelton Labrecque. Gerard Hickman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Clemente Olayo made a huge save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anacleto Lehen to strike the kick off in the second half. Toronto Marlies FC's Ellis Penn got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Teofilo Noe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marc Hale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. In the 65th minute Gerard Hickman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Olayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Shelton Labrecque got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 71 minutes, Ellis Penn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Toronto Marlies FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ellis Penn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th minute, Anacleto Lehen fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerard Hickman in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clemente Olayo saved Ruquense FC from getting behind. Clemente Olayo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shelton Labrecque in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Gerard Hickman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clemente Olayo was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. Godfredo Enol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ruquense FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
