CE LAJEADENSE RS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilvan Moura was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of GreenSkar FC booed when CE LAJEADENSE RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Ely didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Humberto Rossi could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which Jens-Ove Mårtensson however easily saved by the left post. CE LAJEADENSE RS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GreenSkar FC the free kick. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CE LAJEADENSE RS! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lennart Svensson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
