The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Skellerup FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Oscar Brodel fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gorm Adsersen in the 7th minute of play forced Better Call Saul's goalkeeper Maurício Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Better Call Saul booed when Skellerup FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulf Laagerup didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Raúl Furtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th minute Gorm Adsersen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurício Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Better Call Saul's goal looked a bit too open when Gorm Adsersen came free, but Maurício Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Raúl Furtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gorm Adsersen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Veiga having to interfere. Murillo Antunes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mattæus Bøtner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulf Laagerup in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maurício Veiga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kristjan Høgaard struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Maurício Veiga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skellerup FC. Marcus Abraão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Pombal in the 33rd minute of play forced Skellerup FC's goalkeeper Mattæus Bøtner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 minutes of play, Skellerup FC's Kristjan Høgaard made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maurício Veiga was left in no man's land by his defense there! Maurício Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gorm Adsersen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute Kristjan Høgaard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurício Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute, Ulf Laagerup ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maurício Veiga was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcus Abraão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mattæus Bøtner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Abraão in the 51st minute of play. In the 57th minute Raúl Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattæus Bøtner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maurício Veiga didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 58th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. Better Call Saul's Maurício Veiga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Better Call Saul from getting a goal against them. In the 65th minute, Skellerup FC's Kristjan Høgaard dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. Maurício Veiga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kristjan Høgaard went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. In the 71st minute, Kristjan Høgaard left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Skellerup FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. The supporters of Skellerup FC booed when Better Call Saul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caspar Rimsøe didn't quite understand what happened when in the 82 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. 90 minutes into the game, Kristjan Høgaard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-7. Maurício Veiga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Better Call Saul's Maurício Veiga got control of the ball when Gorm Adsersen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Skellerup FC played a much better game than Better Call Saul and deserved their victory. The Better Call Saul players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
