The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Giorgos Terzakis kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. With 11 minutes on the clock, Theofilos Voutsas commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 10th minute, one of ERGOTELIS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ERGOTELIS. Viorel Blejan might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Panos Drambas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Viorel Blejan ran back to his position shaking his head. After 19th play minutes Alkaios Mavrofidis shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Maxim Buzescu and just under the crossbar into goal. Alkaios Mavrofidis scored 1-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maxim Buzescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 27 minutes into the match, ERGOTELIS's goal looked a bit too open when Valer Romanescu came free, but Panos Drambas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grigoris Maras scored 1-3 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maxim Buzescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Maxim Buzescu came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by ERGOTELIS's Menelaos Moutafis. But to his dismay, Menelaos Moutafis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alkaios Mavrofidis to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valeriu Predescu in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Panos Drambas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to ERGOTELIS getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Pavlos Kastanopoulos hit a great ball. Panos Drambas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Jilăveanu in the 65th minute of the match. Menelaos Moutafis hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Panos Drambas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valeriu Predescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Panos Drambas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valeriu Predescu in the 80th minute of play. If Alex Jilăveanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grigoris Maras kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
