Traian Ispas made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Agostinho de Amaral sent off a good shot on target. Nechifor Ivașcu hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Tim Hedman put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Flávio Dantas. Agostinho de Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tim Hedman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Flávio Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vila Nova Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tim Hedman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. The Vila Nova Futebol Clube players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Oltul Slatina were winning 0-5.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Radu Jder made a kick off. Tim Hedman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flávio Dantas having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Vila Nova Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Tim Hedman came free, but Flávio Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute, Ernest Bornescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 97 played minutes Tim Hedman rounded Vila Nova Futebol Clube's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-8.
