Club Sportivo Italiano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Betão Veiga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Higinio Procopio in the 22nd minute of play forced THE MAYA's goalkeeper Nelson Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Club Sportivo Italiano defense, Betão Veiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Justo Onofre. The Club Sportivo Italiano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Justo Onofre should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fermin Torres during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Club Sportivo Italiano's Fermin Torres got a free kick in the 29th minute. THE MAYA's Nelson Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timoteo Lico in the 32nd minute of play. During the 37th minute of the match Fermin Torres completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Fermin Torres a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Betão Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Justo Onofre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the game, Club Sportivo Italiano's Timoteo Lico nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nelson Netto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Betão Veiga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 48thth minute tested the skills of Justo Onofre when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Betão Veiga in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Justo Onofre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, THE MAYA's Betão Veiga got a free kick in the 59th minute. Justo Onofre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betão Veiga in the 62nd minute of play. When THE MAYA's Betão Veiga in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club Sportivo Italiano's goalie prevented a goal. In the 73rd minute, Elvio Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the game, Emilio Naike was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Sportivo Italiano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave THE MAYA the free kick. In the 79th match minute, Club Sportivo Italiano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilio Naike to maneuver through the defense. Sixto Roland's late challenge caught a THE MAYA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sixto Roland helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 99 minutes, Betão Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. THE MAYA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betão Veiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Club Sportivo Italiano players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for THE MAYA.
