Antonio Gol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute Jailson Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valer Onișoru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastian Culcer's late challenge caught a ATHLETICO PRaiano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastian Culcer helped the player get up and apologised. After 33 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Culcer. Valer Onișoru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Gol in the 34th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Jackson Nascimento cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Valer Onișoru was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antonio Gol was the one to do the kick off. Vítor Roque kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Octavian Chiriacescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valer Onișoru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jackson Nascimento in the 62nd minute. Jailson Cearense hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute, Patrick Quintal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gigi Bobei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson Cearense in the 72nd minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Valer Onișoru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The attack was good, but when Jailson Cearense in the 72nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Jackson Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Valer Onișoru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 83 minutes, Doriva Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ATHLETICO PRaiano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Doriva Quintal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Gigi Bobei fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's protests and gave Gigi Bobei a yellow card for diving instead. After 86 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Gigi Bobei. Jackson Nascimento's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Valer Onișoru firmly grabbed it by the left post. Valer Onișoru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jackson Nascimento in the 92nd minute of play. Valer Onișoru made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Jackson Nascimento sent off a good shot on target.
