Mauro Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tage Smestad having to interfere. Philip Kvilhaug charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Philip Kvilhaug the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Philip Kvilhaug kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After 14 played minutes FÊNIX F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Luz. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Mauro Luz sped through Curtis United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tage Smestad. In the 24th match minute, FÊNIX F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Germano Luz to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to FÊNIX F.C. getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Germano Luz hit a great ball. The FÊNIX F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when FÊNIX F.C.'s Bengt Bouchard looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alfredo Paraibano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tore Linnerud in the 33rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Curtis United's zone, Mauro Luz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tage Smestad came out of the goal and Mauro Luz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 37 minutes into the game, Bengt Bouchard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Tage Smestad was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 46 played minutes Curtis United got a freekick which was hit by Philip Kvilhaug. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tore Linnerud made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bengt Bouchard in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tage Smestad prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Mauro Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FÊNIX F.C.'s Gugu Alcântara was substituted for Alfredinho Maciel. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Tore Linnerud managed to get in a good position for a shot. Curtis United's supporters rose to their feet, but Tore Linnerud was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Paraibano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bengt Bouchard in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Tage Smestad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bengt Bouchard in the 70th minute of the match. Tage Smestad stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bengt Bouchard's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Curtis United's Tage Smestad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bengt Bouchard in the 72nd minute of play. In the 74th minute, Bengt Bouchard left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FÊNIX F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Bengt Bouchard sped through Curtis United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tage Smestad. After 84 minutes, Bengt Bouchard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FÊNIX F.C. and the Curtis United players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FÊNIX F.C. getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Bengt Bouchard hit a great ball. When Bengt Bouchard came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the FÊNIX F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bengt Bouchard couldn't finish the play. If Bengt Bouchard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Bengt Bouchard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tage Smestad was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. FÊNIX F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
