An unexpectedly hard shot by Grzegorz Giertych in the 21st minute of play forced Vancouver Whitecaps's goalkeeper 김 어 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grzegorz Giertych might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 김 어. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Grzegorz Giertych ran back to his position shaking his head. 김 어 was out of position in the 27 minute of play, and Grzegorz Giertych capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Grzegorz Giertych really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Maksymilian Dombrowski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 김 어 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. After 35 played minutes FC Alkomaty got a freekick which was hit by Roman Mochowak. After 38 minutes, 조 개 mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vancouver Whitecaps and the FC Alkomaty players grew even worse after the yellow card. 조 개 kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Vancouver Whitecaps's 이 남궁 got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 75th match minute, Vancouver Whitecaps was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 박 환 to maneuver through the defense. After 81 minutes of play FC Alkomaty's Stanislaw Bucyki was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 82nd minute, Stanislaw Bucyki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Damazy Lukasik made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when 조 개 sent off a good shot on target. 조 개 kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. FC Alkomaty's Lukasz Skonieczny got his second yellow card of the match in the 96th minute. The referee ordered Lukasz Skonieczny off the ground. After a rather tough play, FC Alkomaty's Lukasz Skonieczny got a free kick in the 97th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, FC Alkomaty could leave the field as winners, despite Vancouver Whitecaps having more of the ball for most of the match.
