The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice moves Mátyás Benke could shoot a difficult shot in the 3rd minute, which Olav Westad however easily saved by the left post. In the 7th match minute, Sagene IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Kvandal to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute, Andreas Grøndahl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Várdomb's Bálint Tulipán got a free kick in the 11th minute. Mátyás Benke who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Olav Westad when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Sagene IF's zone, János Hámori stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olav Westad came out of the goal and János Hámori tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Sagene IF's goalkeeper Olav Westad had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mátyás Benke. Vetle Bårdsen hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Rune Le received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Sándor Czibor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olav Westad didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 25th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. János Hámori sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rune Le during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rune Le to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Sagene IF defense, Lajos Kossuth kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olav Westad. The Sagene IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olav Westad should have stopped the shot. Márió Sipos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olav Westad having to interfere. In the 65th match minute, Sagene IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Grøndahl to maneuver through the defense. After 69 played minutes Sagene IF got a freekick which was hit by Andreas Grøndahl. In the 72nd match minute, Várdomb was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Máté Szőlősi to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kjell Ekeli got free with Sándor Czibor in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mátyás Benke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Olav Westad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olav Westad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mátyás Benke, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. 4-0 became the score in the 87th minute when Lajos Kossuth elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 93rd minute, Mátyás Benke ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olav Westad was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0.
