The referee felt a red card was in order, 4 minutes into the game, when Håkan Kruse put in a rough tackle. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Skövde AIK! Karl-Erik Norström had in the 5thth minute some difficulties stopping Jackie Banks's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Karl-Erik Norström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jackie Banks in the 6th minute. When Vasco Gaspar fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AMLUCHO's protests and gave Vasco Gaspar a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Skövde AIK booed when AMLUCHO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasco Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ştefan Șerbulea in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karl-Erik Norström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jerry Williams struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Selahaddin Esentürk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skövde AIK. Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Vilarinho in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, AMLUCHO's goal looked a bit too open when Jerry Williams came free, but Selahaddin Esentürk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ştefan Șerbulea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jerry Williams received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Selahaddin Esentürk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karl-Erik Norström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Vilarinho in the 68th minute of play. Miguel Vilarinho scored 1-0 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karl-Erik Norström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Karl-Erik Norström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jackie Banks in the 88th minute of the match. Jackie Banks was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 93rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 96th minute, Skövde AIK's Kurt Hamrin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1.
