Norrlands Athen's Manfred Fribäck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cătălin Vasilache in the 12th minute of play. Manfred Fribäck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liviu Buceceanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After 18 played minutes John Källberg could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-1 into the left cross. Armada's Emanuel Enoiu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Armada from getting a goal against them. Emanuel Enoiu made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Carew in the 22nd minute. Du Le Jun was slow to take the kick. During this time Norrlands Athen's players had a chance to rest. The audience was convinced that John Källberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emanuel Enoiu was relentless in the 59th minute of the game.
