The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Gil Tróia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júlio Porto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis in the 5th minute of play. CERRO PORTEÑO's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edgar Kensicki in the 6th minute. The corner led CERRO PORTEÑO's Edgar Kensicki to fire away a dangerous shot which Júlio Porto despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Júlio Porto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of CERRO PORTEÑO booed when Fúria Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evaristo Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis in the 18th minute of play forced Fúria Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Júlio Porto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Fúria Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis came free, but Júlio Porto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CERRO PORTEÑO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Júlio Porto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Fúria Futebol Clube's Júlio Porto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis made a precise shot to the right of Júlio Porto. Fúria Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 33 minutes into the match, Fúria Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis came free, but Júlio Porto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, Juninho Paranaense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 36 minutes of play, CERRO PORTEÑO's Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Júlio Porto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Júlio Porto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis in the 41st minute of play forced Fúria Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Júlio Porto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Fúria Futebol Clube defense, Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Júlio Porto. The Fúria Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Júlio Porto should have stopped the shot. Júlio Porto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Edgar Kensicki kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Júlio Porto. That made the score 0-7 in the 56 minute of play. In the 66th minute Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Porto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis scored 0-10 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Júlio Porto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 76th minute, Edgar Kensicki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as CERRO PORTEÑO's Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Júlio Porto. That made the score 0-11 after 77 minutes of play. 85 minutes into the game, Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Júlio Porto. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-13. In the 94th minute Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Porto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th match minute, Fúria Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. CERRO PORTEÑO played a much better game than Fúria Futebol Clube and deserved their victory. The Fúria Futebol Clube players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
