Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Peter Schmeichel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Zdzislaw Domarecki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eero Uusipaavalniemi in the 7th minute of the match. Zdzislaw Domarecki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davide Beckham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute Manchester United FC were awarded a corner. Eero Uusipaavalniemi went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Manchester United FC's Eero Uusipaavalniemi to fire away a dangerous shot which Zdzislaw Domarecki despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 12th minute, Aarre Uusiniemi had to leave the field with a concussion. After 12 minutes, Bogomil Bishkarov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Onyx and the Manchester United FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Manchester United FC made a substitution. Iiro Riksman replaced Aarre Uusiniemi. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jurand Jaraczeski got free with Peter Schmeichel in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zdzislaw Domarecki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eero Uusipaavalniemi, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The supporters of Manchester United FC booed when Onyx was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Wachna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eero Uusipaavalniemi scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zdzislaw Domarecki, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Şahap Cezar got free with Peter Schmeichel in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eero Uusipaavalniemi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zdzislaw Domarecki having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eero Uusipaavalniemi to make the kick off. Peter Schmeichel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jurand Jaraczeski's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Zdzislaw Domarecki was a little too slow when Davide Beckham got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-2. 55 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Manchester United FC's Eero Uusipaavalniemi fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. With a little luck, Onyx's Zdzislaw Domarecki got control of the ball when Valdemar Kuoppala tried to sneak it across the goal line. Onyx's Zdzislaw Domarecki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davide Beckham in the 62nd minute of play. In the 68th minute Eero Uusipaavalniemi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zdzislaw Domarecki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Onyx's Bogomil Bishkarov got a free kick in the 69th minute. Onyx's Zdzislaw Domarecki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Onyx from getting a goal against them. Akseli Ilola could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Zdzislaw Domarecki made a huge save. Manchester United FC made a substitution. Eeli Niinimäki replaced Valdemar Kuoppala. Herbert Gargasz charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
