Robben Musseeuw recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rickard Erserman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Willy Van Linthout read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. A collision led to Bruly getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Jacques Van der Veeren hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Rickard Erserman notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Bruly's Willy Van Linthout. Willy Van Linthout was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Rickard Erserman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rimas Ciparis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Willy Van Linthout tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41stth minute of the game Rickard Erserman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bruly's Willy Van Linthout was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 42nd minute Inter de Chillán were awarded a corner. Tobías Izamit went to the cornerflag to take it. A sloppy throw-in by Mercurio San Martín in the 43rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Bruly's Robben Musseeuw. Rimas Ciparis charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rimas Ciparis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rickard Erserman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. But to his dismay, Rickard Erserman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 60 minutes into the game, Alfonso Sotta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Inter de Chillán's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bruly the free kick. After 60 played minutes Inter de Chillán got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Sotta. Inter de Chillán made a substitution. Eladio Araujo replaced Rickard Erserman. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Inter de Chillán booed when Bruly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 83rd match minute, Bruly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacques Van der Veeren to maneuver through the defense. Eladio Araujo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Willy Van Linthout read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, Inter de Chillán could leave the field as winners, despite Bruly having more of the ball for most of the match.
