In the 12th minute Ksawery Winnicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Salvidor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriele Batistuta in the 16th minute of play forced Roceira SC's goalkeeper Marcell Barovero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcell Barovero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Roceira SC's goalkeeper Marcell Barovero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabriele Batistuta in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcell Barovero saved Roceira SC from getting behind. After having played for 25 minutes, Paolo Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Roceira SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paolo Rossi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 26 minutes into the match, Roceira SC's goalkeeper Marcell Barovero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabriele Batistuta. Camilo Salvidor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hulk Speed in the 33rd minute of the match. Camilo Salvidor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hulk Speed, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabriele Batistuta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gabriele Batistuta to strike the kick off in the second half. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hulk Speed in the 73rd minute of play forced Menchu FC's goalkeeper Camilo Salvidor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Many of Roceira SC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Roceira SC may have spent more time on the ball, but Menchu FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
