The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Freitas in the 3rd minute of play forced AM United's goalkeeper David Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's Pedro Freitas in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AM United's goalie prevented a goal. 10 minutes into the match, AM United's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Aleso came free, but David Bastos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teodoro Freire came free with the goalkeeper in the 12th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Wiliam Simão could save by the left post. With a little luck, Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's Wiliam Simão got control of the ball when Teodoro Freire tried to sneak it across the goal line. AM United were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. João Osório took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Jorge Morais got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wiliam Simão quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 21 minutes into the match, AM United's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Aleso came free, but David Bastos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Aleso in the 23rd minute of play forced AM United's goalkeeper David Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 24 minutes of play, Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's Juan Aleso made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Bastos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wiliam Simão was a little too slow when Teodoro Freire got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 1-1. After having played for 34 minutes, Juan Aleso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan Aleso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teodoro Freire could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Wiliam Simão made a huge save. In the 37th minute Pedro Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Bastos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teodoro Freire's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Wiliam Simão firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 44 played minutes Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Bruno do Valle. AM United's João Osório couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 44th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ. Jorge Morais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Wiliam Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodoro Freire stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Angelo Pessoa struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Wiliam Simão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AM United. After 58th play minutes Juan Aleso shot 1-2, a short shot which went by David Bastos and just under the crossbar into goal. After having played for 62 minutes, João Osório managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AM United's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Osório was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. David Bastos made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Oier Lopez de Toro sent off a good shot on target. In the 67th minute Teodoro Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wiliam Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 71 played minutes AM United got a freekick which was hit by Nikos Christou. The supporters of Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ booed when AM United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nikos Christou didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Bastos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Aleso in the 74th minute. 75 minutes into the match, Pedro Freitas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of David Bastos, 1-3. Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ made a substitution. Silas de Brito replaced Oier Lopez de Toro. João Osório was slow to take the kick. During this time AM United's players had a chance to rest.
