In the 6th minute of the match Gnesta Oilers got a corner. Ruquense FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gaudencio Stanislao ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Gaudencio Stanislao almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ruquense FC's Romulo Gelacio did a great save. 7 minutes into the game, Basilio Fernandez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Patrick Eliasson. Basilio Fernandez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Gnesta Oilers's Patrick Eliasson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Gnesta Oilers from getting a goal against them. Dave Mathy kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the game, Ruquense FC's Santos Bartuelo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Patrick Eliasson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Geovanni Zalon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Patrick Eliasson made a huge save. If Alejo Veliz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th match minute, Ruquense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vilho Tikkanen to maneuver through the defense. Romulo Gelacio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alejo Veliz, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Ruquense FC's Romulo Gelacio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Mathy in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Ove Söderström in the 34th minute of play forced Ruquense FC's goalkeeper Romulo Gelacio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alejo Veliz scored 2-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Romulo Gelacio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The throw-in from Santos Bartuelo in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Gnesta Oilers's John Dahlquist. A collision led to Gnesta Oilers getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Dave Mathy hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karl-Ove Söderström made a kick off. Romulo Gelacio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Ove Söderström in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gnesta Oilers's goalkeeper Patrick Eliasson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Mathy in the 62nd minute of play forced Ruquense FC's goalkeeper Romulo Gelacio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santos Bartuelo in the 63rd minute of play forced Gnesta Oilers's goalkeeper Patrick Eliasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patrick Eliasson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basilio Fernandez in the 65th minute of play. Romulo Gelacio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Ove Söderström in the 66th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Ruquense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Mathy came free, but Romulo Gelacio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Karl-Ove Söderström came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Gnesta Oilers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl-Ove Söderström couldn't finish the play. Romulo Gelacio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl-Ove Söderström's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dave Mathy got free with Romulo Gelacio in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gnesta Oilers's Patrick Eliasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basilio Fernandez in the 80th minute of play. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gnesta Oilers's goalkeeper Patrick Eliasson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
