After a defensive mix-up in Sporting de Gijón's zone, Jaroslaw Kensicki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Delmar Orti came out of the goal and Jaroslaw Kensicki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th minute, Jaroslaw Kensicki left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Phantasy World fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Hugon Gurgul managed to get in a good position for a shot. Phantasy World's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugon Gurgul was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Delmar Orti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard shot 25 in the game by Jaroslaw Kensicki from a close distance when the talented Delmar Orti managed to make a qualified save. Sporting de Gijón's players were relieved. Alejo Liberto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zula Puzio having to interfere. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Phantasy World's goalkeeper Zula Puzio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Phantasy World's Ziemowit Domarecki got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Aaron Anselmino got a free kick in the 36th minute. Phantasy World's Zula Puzio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blas-Armando Giunta in the 39th minute of play. Delmar Orti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Aaron Anselmino fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting de Gijón's protests and gave Aaron Anselmino a yellow card for diving instead. Aaron Anselmino hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. Francisco Gabino replaced Apolo Herrera. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Aaron Anselmino got a free kick in the 50th minute. Jaroslaw Kensicki took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 50th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Delmar Orti. Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Blas-Armando Giunta to make the kick off. Janusz Chlapowski lost his temper 56 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The audience was convinced that Hugon Gurgul's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Delmar Orti was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Delmar Orti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dawid Wieloch in the 66th minute of play. In the 81st match minute, Phantasy World was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damian Lato to maneuver through the defense. Blas-Armando Giunta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 85 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Dawid Wieloch came free, but Delmar Orti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute, Hugon Gurgul hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sporting de Gijón's Dionisio Blasi shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 94th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Zula Puzio but with some difficulty. Dawid Wieloch struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Delmar Orti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Phantasy World. Phantasy World's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
