After 21 minutes, Ceferino Oskitz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Branca del Vieja and the Anjullan AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, El Branca del Vieja's Ceferino Oskitz got a free kick in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the match, El Branca del Vieja's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Uxio came free, but Paolo Eduino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Anjullan AFC's Angelo Uxio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paolo Eduino. That made the score 2-0 after 36 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roman Donzel got free with Paolo Eduino in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 46th minute, Miguel Pedroso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
