With a little luck, Stiinta-Univ.'s Avram Seremet got control of the ball when Ruud van Harten tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Matei Onaca to make the kick off. When Manuel Burdujan fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stiinta-Univ.'s protests and gave Manuel Burdujan a yellow card for diving instead.
