A collision led to Gladiators getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Virgilio Calvet hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Felice Guidoni made a precise shot to the right of Severino Caetano. Gladiators's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felice Guidoni in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Severino Caetano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute, Guido Arias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gladiators's Severino Caetano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felice Guidoni in the 35th minute of play. If Davide Lucente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Felice Guidoni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Severino Caetano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felice Guidoni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd match minute, Gladiators was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Romero to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the game, A.S. Udinese's Dino Angelici nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Severino Caetano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Bruno De Marco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Caetano having to interfere. Frank Di Salvatore charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Gladiators's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A.S. Udinese the free kick. In the 80th minute Aquilino Osmundo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fedele Schiacciacasse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gladiators's Severino Caetano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Gladiators from getting a goal against them.
