The supporters of Geležinis Vilkas booed when Rot-Weiss-Essen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sascha Andre Rennert didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Vidmantas Bieliauskas came free, but Ratko Gingold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ratko Gingold took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vidmantas Bieliauskas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the game, Geležinis Vilkas's Vidmantas Bieliauskas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ratko Gingold made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Micha-Alexander Bastmann kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Noel Erler hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vidmantas Bieliauskas in the 27th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper Ratko Gingold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Vidmantas Bieliauskas made a precise shot to the right of Ratko Gingold. Rot-Weiss-Essen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 34 minutes into the match, Geležinis Vilkas's Renatas Bagdžiūnas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ratko Gingold narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Rot-Weiss-Essen defense, Vaclovas Andrulis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ratko Gingold. The Rot-Weiss-Essen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ratko Gingold should have stopped the shot. In the 39th minute Vidmantas Bieliauskas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ratko Gingold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Vidmantas Bieliauskas came free, but Ratko Gingold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Simeon Plank hit a great ball. In the 45th minute of the match Rupertas Lazauskas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ratko Gingold showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After the first half Geležinis Vilkas were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arbo Sachs was the one to do the kick off. Vidmantas Bieliauskas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Ratko Gingold when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ratko Gingold made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Vidmantas Bieliauskas sent off a good shot on target. Geležinis Vilkas's attack was well implemented in the 65th minute, but when Vidmantas Bieliauskas was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. In the 67th minute, Lars Oliver Dorn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sascha Andre Rennert during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 72 played minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen got a freekick which was hit by Sascha Andre Rennert. Vidmantas Bieliauskas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Ratko Gingold skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Ratko Gingold proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting a goal against them. In the 84th minute, Geležinis Vilkas's Vaclovas Andrulis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. A hard shot 93 in the game by Vidmantas Bieliauskas from a close distance when the talented Ratko Gingold managed to make a qualified save. Rot-Weiss-Essen's players were relieved. The Rot-Weiss-Essen fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Geležinis Vilkas were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
