In the 3rd minute Michael Paziorek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Vasconcelos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Academia Monte Gordo getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Damião Passos hit a great ball. In the 8th minute, one of Academia Monte Gordo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Academia Monte Gordo. 13 minutes into the match, Academia Monte Gordo's goal looked a bit too open when Jari Anzengruber came free, but Nuno Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alwin Korte during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Academia Monte Gordo booed when Academica Pulheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alwin Korte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nuno Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jari Anzengruber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jari Anzengruber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Jari Anzengruber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the game, Academica Pulheim's Conny Stober nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nuno Vasconcelos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Nuno Vasconcelos came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Academica Pulheim's Conny Stober. But to his dismay, Conny Stober quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 35th minute, Jari Anzengruber ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nuno Vasconcelos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alexandre Furtado to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Academia Monte Gordo getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Conny Stober was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 73rd minute. Academica Pulheim's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Conny Stober in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nuno Vasconcelos saved Academia Monte Gordo from getting behind. In the 77th minute, Academica Pulheim's Conny Stober ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nuno Vasconcelos. Nuno Vasconcelos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jari Anzengruber during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jari Anzengruber kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. The supporters of Academica Pulheim booed when Academia Monte Gordo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fábio Matias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jari Anzengruber came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nuno Vasconcelos could save by the left post. Nuno Vasconcelos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conny Stober in the 94th minute of play. Academica Pulheim's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
