GREEN PANTHERS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Babbis Tsaousis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nildo Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Babbis Tsaousis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Marios Mostratos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alekos Simeonidis in the 18th minute of play forced America Futebol Clube SP's goalkeeper Nildo Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nildo Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marios Mostratos in the 19th minute of the match. After some careless play in the America Futebol Clube SP defense, Alekos Simeonidis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nildo Lara. The America Futebol Clube SP fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nildo Lara should have stopped the shot. Babbis Tsaousis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 32 played minutes GREEN PANTHERS FC got a freekick which was hit by Nikos Dentsas. Narciso Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Fragiskos Saitiotis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alekos Simeonidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had been going on for 43 minutes, America Futebol Clube SP's Sérgio Trigo got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Fragiskos Saitiotis. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Veiga made a kick off. After 54 played minutes GREEN PANTHERS FC got a freekick which was hit by Akis Anastopoulos. Babbis Tsaousis struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Nildo Lara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GREEN PANTHERS FC. Fragiskos Saitiotis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauã Prestes, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. The supporters of America Futebol Clube SP booed when GREEN PANTHERS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Babbis Tsaousis didn't get a good kick on the ball. GREEN PANTHERS FC made a substitution. Dimitris Rachiotis replaced Aris Petrochilos. In the 71st minute, Babbis Tsaousis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Marios Mostratos took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Nildo Lara to make any attempt to save it. Babbis Tsaousis charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Babbis Tsaousis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nildo Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marios Mostratos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind GREEN PANTHERS FC's goalkeeper Fragiskos Saitiotis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marios Mostratos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nildo Lara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. In the 95th minute, Babbis Tsaousis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GREEN PANTHERS FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. When the match was over GREEN PANTHERS FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than America Futebol Clube SP throughout the match.
