Pirajiba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcial Stephen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 11 minutes into the match, Reginaldo Coutinho notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Cura del Futbol's Gilberto Hernandez. Gilberto Hernandez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Cura del Futbol booed when Pirajiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reginaldo Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cido Meireles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcial Stephen in the 19th minute of play. Gilberto Hernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reginaldo Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 29 played minutes Pirajiba got a freekick which was hit by Rodriguinho Alvarenga. In the 32nd minute Jairo Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Hernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th match minute, Pirajiba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sydney Cearense to maneuver through the defense. Natanael Couto lost his temper 38 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 37th minute, one of Pirajiba:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pirajiba. In the 40th minute there was a penalty for Cura del Futbol. Faustino Cordaryal stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cido Meireles. 1-2. The supporters of Cura del Futbol booed when Pirajiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sydney Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Carlos Bartolome made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Cura del Futbol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constantino Peter to maneuver through the defense. Cido Meireles made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Marcial Stephen sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reginaldo Coutinho in the 70th minute of play forced Cura del Futbol's goalkeeper Gilberto Hernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Faustino Cordaryal thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Gilberto Hernandez, a very annoying self made goal in the 71st minute which led to 2-2. After a rather tough play, Cura del Futbol's Jimeno Millano got a free kick in the 74th minute. Reginaldo Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Hernandez having to interfere. Gilberto Hernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reginaldo Coutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reginaldo Coutinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Gilberto Hernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Reginaldo Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto Hernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reginaldo Coutinho in the 88th minute of the match. If Reginaldo Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the game, Reginaldo Coutinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Gilberto Hernandez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cura del Futbol players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Pirajiba.
