In the 12th minute, Dino de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Damian Mincho's late challenge caught a C o n f i a n ç a - SE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Damian Mincho helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of C o n f i a n ç a - SE booed when São Petersburgo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damian Mincho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diedrik Nys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clayton Pedron, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Diguinho Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dino de Souza in the 26th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, C o n f i a n ç a - SE's goal looked a bit too open when Hamílton Galvão came free, but Diguinho Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C o n f i a n ç a - SE's Diguinho Carioca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gwidon Kapelski in the 30th minute of play. Diguinho Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hamílton Galvão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Damian Mincho hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Jeremias Maia made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to C o n f i a n ç a - SE getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Genílson da Silva hit a great ball. Diedrik Nys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremias Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Hamílton Galvão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Diguinho Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeremias Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Diedrik Nys showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremias Maia in the 63rd minute of the match. Diedrik Nys made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovani Mandrak in the 67th minute of play. After having played for 68 minutes, Geovani Mandrak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C o n f i a n ç a - SE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geovani Mandrak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Maia in the 72nd minute of play forced São Petersburgo FC's goalkeeper Diedrik Nys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diguinho Carioca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dino de Souza's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. A collision led to São Petersburgo FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Natanael de Senna hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the game, C o n f i a n ç a - SE's Jeremias Maia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Diedrik Nys made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The throw-in from Natanael de Senna in the 91st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by C o n f i a n ç a - SE's Ernesto Monteiro. The C o n f i a n ç a - SE supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching São Petersburgo FC's performance. The match ended with a win for São Petersburgo FC.
