Jairo Deunoro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kleopas Plouffe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Luisito Gaizkine hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Gogo Elequemedo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Angelo Urtsua having to make a save. In the 14th minute, Gogo Elequemedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angelo Urtsua was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 0-2 became the score in the 18th minute when Gogo Elequemedo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 21st minute Silverio Belo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Urtsua saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute, D.J. Malay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Angelo Urtsua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesar Romildo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Caballeritos del Baile's Angelo Urtsua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gogo Elequemedo in the 28th minute of play. If Jairo Deunoro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Caballeritos del Baile getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Rene Crescencio hit a great ball. In the 35th minute Gogo Elequemedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Urtsua saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Alberto Aznar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jairo Deunoro came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Caballeritos del Baile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jairo Deunoro couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jairo Deunoro made a kick off. Gogo Elequemedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angelo Urtsua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Aznar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Luisito Gaizkine came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Caballeritos del Baile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luisito Gaizkine couldn't finish the play. In the 72ndth minute of the game Alberto Aznar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caballeritos del Baile's Angelo Urtsua was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
