Luis Vázquez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ferdinand Poenaru read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sportivo Desamparados's goalkeeper Ferdinand Poenaru, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Raul Moise fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sportivo Desamparados's protests and gave Raul Moise a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st match minute, Sportivo Desamparados was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raul Moise to maneuver through the defense. Ferdinand Poenaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bonifacio Guib, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute.
