Josemir Lujambio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Dalmacio Pello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Josemir Lujambio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dalmacio Pello read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. With his leg Dalmacio Pello managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Atlético Argentino's Luis Vázquez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josemir Lujambio in the 24th minute of play forced Tello AFC's goalkeeper Dalmacio Pello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Tello AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eufemio Yabbarov was slow to take the kick. During this time Atlético Argentino's players had a chance to rest. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
