The audience thought a goal was coming when Agustín Álvarez got free with Artur Boruc in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 28 minutes into the match, Agustín Álvarez notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Poland's Artur Boruc. Artur Boruc was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Damazy Joks stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Damazy Joks came free, but Xove Tijerina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Agustín Álvarez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Artur Boruc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. That made the score 2-1 after 75 minutes of play. 79 minutes into the match, Rosario Cepa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Artur Boruc. Poland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rosario Cepa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Xove Tijerina was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Marek Czech capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marek Czech really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. Poland's Artur Boruc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rosario Cepa in the 84th minute of play. If Roch Dejo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Poland's Roch Dejo got a free kick in the 94th minute.
