Spectators: 165 (Terracing: 124, Seating: 38, VIP seats: 3) When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Brent-Jan Van de cauter sped through Inverness Warriors's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Iain Lambie. Inverness Warriors's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Brent-Jan Van de cauter scored to the left of an out of position Iain Lambie, making the score, 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amos Stumpo during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Inverness Warriors booed when GentFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amos Stumpo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute Finlay Gifford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hudson Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, GentFC's goal looked a bit too open when Finlay Gifford came free, but Hudson Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iain Lambie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brent-Jan Van de cauter in the 20th minute of play. When GentFC's Brent-Jan Van de cauter in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Inverness Warriors's goalie prevented a goal. Iain Lambie came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by GentFC's Brent-Jan Van de cauter. But to his dismay, Brent-Jan Van de cauter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Brent-Jan Van de cauters short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Iain Lambie to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Hudson Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wayne Pollard in the 28th minute of the match. Inverness Warriors's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Finlay Gifford in the 29th minute. Neil Howison made a great header on Inverness Warriors's corner, it was just that GentFC's Hudson Costa managed to reach the ball for a save. 32 minutes into the match, GentFC's Brent-Jan Van de cauter sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iain Lambie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Inverness Warriors's Iain Lambie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Inverness Warriors from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 35 minutes, Iain Lambie successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 36thth minute of the game Brent-Jan Van de cauter who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inverness Warriors's Iain Lambie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 38 minutes, Sebastian Zyskowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GentFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastian Zyskowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 41 played minutes Inverness Warriors got a freekick which was hit by Tommy Binnie. In the 43rd minute, Brent-Jan Van de cauter fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. A collision led to Inverness Warriors getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Declan McKichan hit a great ball. 46 minutes into the match, GentFC's Tugay Kerimoglu broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Sebastian Zyskowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iain Lambie having to interfere. 4-0 became the score in the 57th minute when Brent-Jan Van de cauter elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 63rd match minute, Inverness Warriors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wayne Pollard to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute, Tugay Kerimoglu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hudson Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Finlay Gifford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Finlay Gifford in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hudson Costa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dominik Ackermans's late challenge caught a Inverness Warriors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dominik Ackermans helped the player get up and apologised. Dominik Ackermans hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Hudson Costa stood somewhat misplaced when Wayne Pollard came free in front of goal and shot 5-1 to the left of him in the 82 minute. Wayne Pollard kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Inverness Warriors's Iain Lambie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brent-Jan Van de cauter in the 88th minute of play. The Inverness Warriors fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when Inverness Warriors's Wayne Pollard looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Tommy Binnie fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inverness Warriors's protests and gave Tommy Binnie a yellow card for diving instead. Tommy Binnie kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Neil Howison kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
