The Salamón Del Fierro was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 82nd minute, Dušan Vlahović got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tauro Fontecilla who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Rolf Van den Hoff when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The CDU Católica supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CDU Católica would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
