Ingvar Lägdin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sonny Classon in the 4th minute of play. A collision led to Manchester United getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Ola Käcker hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, Sture Tolsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jakob Caspersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Otto Kielstedt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hans Rosendahl charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hans Rosendahl the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th minute, Hans Rosendahl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Otto Kielstedt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elder do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. A hard shot 27 in the game by Jakob Caspersson from a close distance when the talented Otto Kielstedt managed to make a qualified save. Leeds United FC's players were relieved. Jakob Casperssons short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Otto Kielstedt to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 31st minute, Sonny Classon made a precise shot to the right of Ingvar Lägdin. Manchester United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After having played for 34 minutes, Jakob Caspersson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jakob Caspersson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leeds United FC's Otto Kielstedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stig Örtlund in the 36th minute of play. Otto Kielstedt made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Elder do Valle sent off a good shot on target. Elder do Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otto Kielstedt having to interfere. Jakob Caspersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jakob Caspersson struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Otto Kielstedt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United.

Otto Kielstedt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bozhidar Stiptzarov, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The supporters of Leeds United FC booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mevlüt Özal didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 minutes of play, Manchester United's Mevlüt Özal made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Otto Kielstedt was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Elder do Valle in the 87th minute of play forced Leeds United FC's goalkeeper Otto Kielstedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 88 minutes, Sture Tolsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leeds United FC and the Manchester United players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Leeds United FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Sture Tolsson hit a great ball. Otto Kielstedt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elder do Valle's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Elder do Valle might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Otto Kielstedt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elder do Valle ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 94th minute Mevlüt Özal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otto Kielstedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bozhidar Stiptzarov scored 4-1 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Otto Kielstedt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Manchester United walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
